In celebration of the 500th anniversary of Luther’s posting of his theses for disputation concerning the power and efficacy of indulgences, the diocese set about providing a more readable presentation of what was confessed in our “Theses on the Article of Justification” (2013). The Theses on the Article of Justification (Adopted 2019) is no departure from what was presented in 2013, but we believe this document makes a clearer presentation of it, since it is not a retooling of theses for disputation like the previous, but designed from the outset to present this as the settled issue for Lutherans that it was in the 1500s and should have always remained.
